Safety
Safety starts with knowing that the medicine we offer is safe and effective. To be sure that the Boulder Creek Collective provides only safe and effective medicine to it's members, we start by knowing where our medicine comes from. All of our medicine is provided by contracted farmer's who have agreed to be the sole providers for the Boulder Creek Collective. These farmers have agreed to a rigid code of conduct. Included in this code of conduct is mandatory testing for efficacy and pesticide exposure, regular garden inspections and microscopic surveys of all products looking for pests, molds and mildews. Boulder Creek Collective medicine is only produced in Santa Cruz County by local farmers.
Once we have established the safety and efficacy of the medicine, the next step in maintaining client safety is assuring the right medicine goes to the right patient and that the patient knows how to use her/his medicine correctly. We do this by interviewing all new patients and screening for contraindications (emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, schizophrenia not under the treatment under a psychiatrist, etc). Once we have established that there are no contra-indications to a member's use of medical marijuana, we offer individual counseling and teaching services from our staff nurses. All of this is designed to make the member's experience as safe, effective and pleasent as possible.
